Light Sorcerer
This game was made for Mini Jam 150: Magic, with limitation of "Light is the way". It is honestly undercooked as I'm not very good at game jams. It has one level to play.
The first version is 0.1.1
0.1.2 web has arrived, including balance changes, fixing targeting dead enemy bug, and increasing responsivness of the ui somewhat.
This game has 2 main mechanics: before fight you can power up your abilities and items using Light resource, and turn based battles where you and your enemies spend n turns to do an action. In the future it could have battle rewards and 5-10 levels untill you win.
There are 4 times for effects to be applied:
- Start of turn
- Action (after n turns have passed to do it)
- After player action
- End of turn
There are also 5 effects as of 0.1.1:
- Damage
- Block
- Heal (doesn't increase health cap)
- Strength: modifies how much damage is dealt by the target.
- Regeneration: at the start of the turn, gain health equal to regeneration. Then lose half of it, rounded down
There are 4 target types:
- Chosen Opponent
- Self: User of the ability
- All opponents
- ALL: everyone in the fight
Known issues:
- ui for enemy intentions and passives does not exist
- ui showing which enemy is targeted is not very noticable
- hovering over abilities, enemies and items does not show explanation of what's going on
- using text to describe timing, effects and targeting — using icons would be better, especially after hover over explanations are added.
